Minutes January 21, 2012

Meeting called to order by Deb Morrison at 7:35.

Diane Conde moved to approve minutes. Win complained about a typo. Seconded by Donna Ouellette and Win Bennett. Carried unanimously.

Win Bennett read the treasurer’s report. We have $673.00.

Amy Bergeron moved that we skip elections and leave the current officers in place. Dave Morrison seconded. Passed unanimously.

Discussion of frequency of meetings: Carol Anne Bennett moved that we meet every other month. Diane Conde seconded. Dave Morrison thirded. Motion carried unanimously. Meetings will begin in January and meet every other month. Off months will be events.

We discussed having the rest of our meetings at Amy Bergeron’s. Win moved that Amy cook us dinner. Suzanne suggested we have a pot luck dinner meeting.

The Mason Conservation Commission says their grant to fix the trestle bridge has fallen through. The snowmobile will be doing some of the work. We were asked if we’d be interested in taking down the railings – disassemble and store. We can let them know if we’d be interested in doing that, and we will wait until the build date gets closer.

Carol Ann talked to Bob at American Tee-Shirt. She brought samples. If someone is interested in ordering, contact Carol Ann by the end of February. Brightly colored tees are $10.00. Deb will send the information to the email list as an attachment, including price list.

Amy showed us her reflectors. ☺ In light of the recent motor vehicle vs horse accident, it’s not a bad idea to make ourselves more visible.

Events Calender: Will contain the Bonfire, the Full Moon Ride, The Progressive Ride, the Gymkhana, the Christmas party, and the Barbecue (not in that order).

The Bonfire is the next event. It will be at Deb and Dave Morrison’s on Saturday, February 18th. BYOB and lots of food, preferably hot. ☺

The official meeting date will be the first Saturday of the month. The next meeting will be March 3rd.

Dues discussion: Suzanne suggested we keep the dues as they are, but charge for events. If we need more, for example if we want to help someone out, we can ask for donations for specific purposes. We could also charge $5 for the barbecue, and for other events that cost the club. Suzanne recommends we increase the dues to $15 and $20, and put the extra $5 toward the rescue sled. Might help to bring in members.

Suzanne asks that we take a look at the website and decide if we need to keep it. Suzanne will look into the expense vs the benefit and report to us at the next meeting. We also discussed the possibility of moving the website to a blog format, which would be free.

We discussed mountain lions. All those who did not attend the Mountain Lion presentation at the Town Hall were chastised by Carol Ann.

Deb will send out an email re: dues increase - $5 will go toward the rescue glide.

Carol Ann Bennett moved to adjourn, Dave Morrison seconded, motion carried by those still paying attention. Meeting adjourned at 8:40 PM.
